About pokaeru
What is pokaeru?
pokaeru is a Mac app for archiving your Pokémon card collection and planning every binder.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac. [To confirm: minimum macOS version and supported Macs.]
Is there an iPhone or iPad app?
Not yet. A companion app is designed and prototyped, and Mac stays the home base. [To confirm: whether to share a timeline.]
Is pokaeru free?
[To confirm: pricing and any in-app purchases.]
Your collection
Do I need an account?
No. pokaeru has no account and no cloud.
Where is my data kept?
On your Mac. Your collection, binders, wishlist and favorites live on your computer, and backups restore on a new one.
Does it work offline?
Yes, for sets you’ve opened.
What is a Master Set binder?
A binder that holds every card in a set. Cards you don’t own are shown faded, a live missing count shows how far you are, and one click adds the missing cards to your wishlist.
What are Physical Binder Rules?
A setting that gives a binder a fixed page count, so it matches a real binder.
Can I start a binder with every Pokémon in order?
Yes. National Dex binders have one slot per Pokémon in Pokédex order, with placeholders for gaps. You can also start empty, build a Master Set, or collect one Pokémon or one illustrator across every set.
Japanese sets
Can I collect Japanese cards?
Yes. Browse Japanese series and sets newest first, with English names, set codes and set images. A JP badge and a Language filter keep them apart from English cards.
Where do the card pictures come from?
Missing pictures are looked up from a second source and saved on your Mac. [To confirm: primary image source and credits.]
Will you add other languages or sets?
Korean and Chinese sets, your own photo for a card and more languages in the app are under consideration. Nothing is promised yet.
